Many of your questions concerning tuition, course credit and administrative matters are answered on the Academic Policies page. Below are those items unique to the Distance Education Program.
When are CCEF Distance Education courses offered?
Classes start the 1st of the following months: January, April, June, August, and October. Tuition must be paid in full and materials need to be ordered for the course by the 15th of the month prior to its start date. Each class runs 12-14 weeks, except Counseling in the Local Church which runs 8-10 weeks.
See Distance Education Course Schedule for specifics.
What is the format and requirements for the CCEF Distance Education program?
Requirements
Each student must have internet access and an email address. In addition, each student must have an mp3 player or a computer program that can play mp3 audio files (i.e. compressed audio files that can be digitally stored).
Course content
Each student will receive all the audio materials for their course via a web download of mp3 files of the lecture recordings. In addition to the audio files, students will have access to a detailed outline of each lecture. The audio files will be segmented by major outline headings for easier navigation.
Assignments and grading
Students will be responsible for electronically submitting assignments based on the syllabi created by the lecturing professor. The amount of time to complete these assignments will also be consistent with the syllabus. A RI (i.e. Recitation Instructor) will grade the assignments and send them back to the student within two weeks of submission. The RI will be available to the student via email.
How much time should I allocate for required coursework?
Listening to each lecture takes 3 hours per week. See Course Descriptions to view the sample syllabus for each course to get a better sense of the coursework required, as well as to access the Reading Lists for each course.
