Bond Slave—Romans 1:1-6

Journal of Biblical Counseling 19:3

In this article, Skip Ryan presents a sermon on Romans 1:1-6 and the idea of being a bond slave. Ryan maintains that Romans 1 helps present how the Apostle Paul viewed himself. He was clear, because he understood what his message was and the method he was going to use. Ryan argues that Paul understood what his obituary was going to say long before it was ever written. Amazingly, he called himself a bond slave, the lowest of the low. Ryan concludes that that slavery to Christ, and only slavery to Christ, will set you free.
