Evangelism Implosion: Reaching the Hearts of Non-Christian Counselees

In this article, Thomas Sigley argues that counseling ministry creates many opportunities to minister relevantly to unbelievers and that biblical counseling and biblical evangelism are cut from the same piece of cloth. Sigley analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of five widely used models of evangelism: Mass evangelism, method evangelism, modeling evangelism, me-oriented evangelism and mystical evangelism. Sigley concludes by developing “Evangelism Implosion” as a way to probe and reach the heart of unbelievers, describing 5 common ruling idols.
