God’s Glory is the Goal of Biblical Counseling

Journal of Biblical Counseling 20:2

In this article, John Piper argues that counseling needs to be grounded in a God-centered vision for church life. Piper maintains that the call to joy in Christ, to perseverance in faith and to self-giving love can only be fulfilled when the counseling ministries that are the church operate fruitfully. Piper concludes that counseling is one of the most crucial forms of love that helps others love God’s glory in Christ and biblical counseling needs to be the life-blood of the church.
