Truth, Tears, Anger, and Grace – John 11:20-53

Journal of Biblical Counseling 20:1

In this article, Timothy Keller presents a sermon preached the week after the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Keller shows how at the tomb of Lazarus Jesus moved through the situation in four ways: He shares the truth with Martha, sheds tears with Mary, directs his anger toward the tomb, and finally extends grace to everyone. Keller concludes that, with the hope of the resurrection, we can face the future.
