In this article, David Powlison argues that ministry of the Word is more than one-way communication of a pastor to his congregation. It is also two way-conversations, the give-and-take of talking, doing, and relating with one another. Powlison argues that Jesus modeled this for us in His life and that our worldview, as Christian counselors, reflects this style of communication (interaction with others) that Jesus used. Powlison concludes that interpersonal interaction with others about the Word is an important third component of ministry, joining with preaching, and private devotional study.
