In this editorial, John Bettler discusses the development of consumerism and its appeals to greed. Bettler argues that pop psychology panders to need and that the greedy self and the needy self flourish in a world that has lost its moral center. He asserts that, in every age, God calls His people to be champions for the truth. Bettler concludes that the standards of ministry needed to keep the truth alive are: Exegetical excellence; Theological robustness; Apologetic awareness and Ministerial helpfulness.
