Marriage Counseling for Multiethnic Marriages

Journal of Biblical Counseling 22:3

In this article, David Rowe introduces ways that cultural differences (customs, habits) may increase conflict in a marriage. Rowe argues that the counselor must focus on heart issues by identifying the cultural idols each person clings to. He maintains that multiethnic marriages do not suffer a deficit because of cultural divides, but rather are blessed because of them. He concludes that true commitment in marriage is found only through Jesus Christ.
