Queries and Controversies: In marriage, is jealousy always wrong?

Journal of Biblical Counseling 18:1

In this article, John Bettler responds to the question, “In marriage, is jealousy always wrong?” Bettler points to Numbers 5 and its description of a “law of jealousy” that sounds quite foreign to our ears. Bettler maintains that there is a contemporary point: God wants us to see that He is jealous about marriages, and He wants you to be jealous about your marriage. Bettler clarifies, this is not a petty, selfish, or destructive jealousy. Rather, it is motivated by a love that cares, rather than being indifferent.
