Who Am I? How Should I Live?—Rethinking Identity in Christ

Journal of Biblical Counseling 35:1

How should Christians approach questions surrounding their personal identity? Should we limit our discussion to what it means that we are in Christ because that is the only aspect of our identity that matters? Alex Thermenos considers questions like these and evaluates secular and evangelical messaging about identity. He applies John Frame’s approach to epistemology (the study of knowledge) to the subject of identity and then examines the apostle Paul’s teaching in Colossians 3 to move the discussion forward.
