This is part 1 of a 4 part talk: Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4

Cross-cultural missionaries live a life “in-between”—not completely understood by the people they serve, nor by the people they represent. Life in this blended third culture presents unique challenges and opportunities for biblical truth to be fleshed out. This workshop, led by CCEF faculty and CrossWorld leadership, is for pastors and others who want to be equipped to care for those involved in mission.

In the first of this four-part talk, Paul Tripp, John Sherwood, and Paul Fisher maintain that the challenges missionaries face are like those of everyone else in the body of Christ—we all struggle with sins and sufferings. The circumstances may be different, but both the church and missionaries need the same gospel. Tripp, Sherwood, and Fisher summarize missionary life. They discuss common misunderstandings about missionaries and challenges in cross-cultural ministry. They conclude that transformation is needed not in the circumstances of missions, but in the hearts of missionaries.
