Collaborative Counseling: Working Well with Church Leadership

This session casts a vision for vocational and lay counseling ministry that affirms a special place for church leaders in the care of souls. We will explore several obstacles to counselors and church leaders partnering well together, such as perspective and role differences, as well as ethical and practical challenges. We will consider examples where strong collaboration is especially important, such as divorce and remarriage, domestic violence, and psychiatric diagnoses.
